Many people prefer to have some company when commuting by bike. First-time commuters in particular have a greater confidence when traveling with a more experienced bike commuter. The Bike Buddy portion of ShareTheRide.com will match bicyclists in the same manner as carpoolers.

To find a Bike Buddy simply logon to ShareTheRide.com and register using the same instructions as for carpoolers. When you get to the "commuting preferences" section-- be sure to click on "bike" in the drop down list. The map and match list developed for you will then include only bike commuters. This can be used to find a regular bike riding partner or just someone to show you the route for the first time.

Bicycling is a great commute alternative. Even just a day or two a week is a great way to save money, get some exercise and be kind to the environment. Have fun!
